Lukochuri Poem Rabindranath Tagore Pdf 54

Lukochuri Poem Rabindranath Tagore Pdf 54

Lukochuri (Hide and Seek) is a poem by Rabindranath Tagore, the Nobel laureate poet and writer from India. The poem is part of his collection Shishu (Child), which was published in 1892. The poem is written in Bengali and expresses the playful and affectionate relationship between a mother and her child. The poem has 54 lines and is divided into four stanzas.

The poem describes how the child hides from his mother in different places and times of the day, such as behind a flower tree, under a tender leaf, in the shade of a book, or on the floor among the petals. The child enjoys teasing his mother and making her look for him, while the mother tries to find him by calling his name, smelling his fragrance, seeing his shadow, or feeling his touch. The poem ends with the child revealing himself to his mother at night and asking her to tell him a story, while the mother scolds him for being naughty and refuses to tell him where he was hiding.

The poem is a beautiful example of Tagore's mastery of language and imagery, as well as his deep understanding of human emotions and relationships. The poem captures the innocence and joy of childhood, as well as the love and care of motherhood. The poem also reflects Tagore's own childhood experiences, as he was very close to his mother Sarada Devi, who died when he was 14 years old. The poem can be seen as a tribute to his mother and a celebration of life.
